  1. 01Headline sells the outcome. “Welcome to our website” says nothing. “Roofing you can get a straight answer from” names what homeowners fear about contractors and promises the opposite.
  2. 02Urgency handled first. After a storm, most traffic is urgent. “Inspected within 48 hours” answers the only question that matters in that moment.
  3. 03Trust signals up front. Licensed, insured, local, insurer-ready report. The old site buried these in a paragraph. Now they're scannable in two seconds.
  4. 04One primary action. Six nav items and a red underlined link became one button, “Book an inspection,” plus a phone number for people who'd rather call.
  5. 05Built for the phone. The original was a desktop layout squeezed onto a phone. The rebuild is designed at phone width first, with a sticky call and book bar.

Demonstration project. A fictional business and illustrative data, not a client engagement or a measured result.

What a project like this involves

A contractor website rebuild.

Typical: $7,500–$12,000 · 4–6 weeks

  • Discovery. Interviews with the owner and whoever answers the phone. What do customers ask? What makes them hesitate?
  • Structure and copy. Six to eight pages: home, services, recent work, about, service area, booking.
  • Design and build. Mobile-first, fast, accessible. The inquiry form routes to the office and the owner's phone.
  • Launch. Domain, hosting, analytics, search metadata, an editing guide, and 30 days of defect fixes.
